font-size: 14pt;\">In other words, blended learning involves three parts:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\"><strong><em>Students learning in part through online learning with some control<\/em> <\/strong>over time, place, path, and\/or pace<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\"><em><strong>A brick-and-mortar location<\/strong><\/em> (such as a school or learning center) away from home<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\"><em><strong>Modalities<\/strong> <\/em>&#8211; along each student\u2019s learning path within a course or subject &#8211; <strong><em>that are connected<\/em> <\/strong>to provide an integrated learning experience.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">Technology, in this case, is not used merely as an instructional tool in the class, <em>but as a way to provide students with a more personal learning experience in which they gain some control over how they learn<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">The tools and applications used in blended learning <strong>help teachers assess and support each student better<\/strong> with more data and grants better and easier student access to useful resources. Students are also given a wider variety of options and ways by which they can demonstrate their understanding of the content and objectives, and practice the new skills they\u2019ve learned.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"How_it_Helps\"><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">How it Helps<\/span><span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">Blended learning enhances students\u2019 learning experience in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edu.gov.on.ca\/elearning\/blend.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">various ways<\/a> and provides <em>the best of both traditional and e-learning<\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">With regards to student and teacher communication, for instance, the group lessons and marked assignments and rubrics of traditional learning are used to ensure the material is delivered, understood, and assessed. Technology is utilized to take learning beyond the classroom, with online discussions, instant messaging, class and school calendars, and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400; font-size: 14pt;\">Students also demonstrate their understanding of the material using the tools and features of both traditional and e-learning when blended learning is properly implemented. Paper tests and assignments are still in effect. Students also witness and handle experiments and projects in actual labs and create posters, charts, and more.
